Trango Systems Announces Support for New FCC Part 101 Licensed Bands
SAN DIEGO, Calif., October 5, 2011 – Trango Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce support in all TrangoLINK™ licensed products for the newly released 7 and 13 GHz FCC Part 101 licensed microwave bands, creating new opportunities for across wide array of applications that need high capacity wireless backhaul in areas where 6 and 11 GHz spectrum is not available or has insufficient capacity.
New models of the all-outdoor TrangoLINK ApexPlus™ and High Power Outdoor Units (HP ODUs), in conjunction with new software for TrangoLINK GigaPlus™, Sparta Elite™ and GigaPro™ are being released. The new products will add channel sizes of 5, 8.3, 12.5, 25 and 50 MHz in the 7 and 13 GHz bands per FCC rules.
The addition of 250 MHz in the upper 6-7 GHz band with a 25 MHz maximum channel size will enable capacities in excess of 150 Mbps for long haul links, similar to the existing lower 6 GHz bands which have limited availability in many areas. In the 13 GHz band, 450 MHz of spectrum with a 50 MHz maximum channel size will enable over 300 Mbps capacity. Previously, 18 GHz was the lowest frequency to support 50 MHz channels, and the propagation characteristics of 13 GHz will enable longer links.

Trango is accepting orders for the new bands now and will begin shipping in December 2011.
